Do the things you focus on give you balance? Do they make you strong? Do they teach you to have a big heart and peaceful mind? If not, maybe they’re the wrong things.
Balance is one of those things that’s never done. It’s part of life that needs readjustment in a minute’s notice and evaluated on a daily basis. At times we’re awesome at it and feel like everything is in a good place. Other times it feels like we’re reeling with indecision, undone things on our checklist, and not enough time to spend doing what we love.
Is there a secret to balance?
Here’s what I think. It’s all about s l o w i n g d o w n.
When we rush around, we can’t feel or see what we’re missing, what we need, or what our hearts are trying to tell us. Our brains try to convince us, rationalize, that we are doing it right. But you can feel it when you’re off. Your body is your best gauge of balance.
When you make the time to evaluate where you are, remember this:
“The more focused you get on the things that do matter, the less energy you lose on the things that don’t.” –@aubreyyrenee
Be honest with your daily activities, even when it’s hard and more especially if it’s hard to admit that you might be doing it wrong. Write down your good and bad so you can see how you can help yourself. Focus on the areas where your Soul, your heart, your burning chest point you. Make interactions with people matter, have them be opportunities to grow your heart and share what you have. Don’t be afraid of doing something new, giving up something old, or sharing parts of your heart that might make it grow.
You are worth the investment. Be the change in your own life. Find your balance for today to live big, be strong, be brave, and be kind.
