Welcome to my Gym and Studio!
If you’re looking to begin creating your own space, I hope this can be a resource for you.
I feel pretty lucky to have created this space and hold room for others to come. Since we moved at the end of 2016, we transformed our garage to make this room entirely dedicated to movement. I’ve been teaching small group calisthenic/HIIT/weight training workouts and yoga classes here since the beginning of 2015. What you see now is not how it began.
In December of 2013 we got a treadmill and a couple foam squares for the floor. I fit them around typical garage equipment and storage, used 15 lb weights, the only ones I had, and called it a gym. As I became more interested in building muscle and exploring movement, we added more equipment and floor space.
When it comes to buying equipment, be choosy. Only get things as you really need them and will use them. Make do with less. It will drive your creativity and keep money in the bank. Overtime you will discover what you really want or need and can adjust accordingly.
